Acceptable Use Policy

A short, common-sense list of what's allowed in your unit — and what isn't.

Effective 1 January 2026

You can store

  • Household goods, furniture, clothes, books, electronics.
  • Business stock, files, tools, equipment, marketing materials.
  • Vehicles parts, bicycles, motorbikes (drained of fuel).
  • Personal records and archives.

You cannot store

  • Living things: people, animals, plants.
  • Perishables: food, drink, medicines.
  • Hazardous materials: fuel, paint, fireworks, solvents, gas cylinders, asbestos.
  • Weapons & ammunition: including air weapons.
  • Cash, jewellery, precious metals or stones above £1,000 value.
  • Anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or restricted under UK export control.
  • Anything that emits strong smells, leaks, or attracts pests.

Insurance

Your goods are not insured by us. Most home contents policies cover items in storage — please check. We can recommend a specialist storage insurer on request.

Inspections

We do not enter units routinely. If we have reasonable grounds (smell, leak, suspected breach), we may inspect in your presence or, with 7 days' notice, alone. Emergency entry (fire, flood) requires no notice.

Breach

Storing prohibited items may result in immediate termination, removal of the items at your cost, and a report to police where appropriate. You remain liable for any damage caused to the site or other units.
